For the kids it was about catching the candy some of the passengers threw into the waiting audience. For Ken and I it was purely about nostalgia. The 50s and 60s were decades we truly don’t remember but the music, oh the music…how fun was it?? It was some of the best out there. This is coming from the mama who just finished downloading Miley Cyrus’ “7 Things” but hey, it rocks out, doesn’t it??
Kata waited patiently to get her weight in thrown tootsie rolls and lollipops.
Alex was making faces, mostly because he was dog-tired from his 45-minute swim lesson.
Bella hated the engines revving and only the promise and fulfillment of an ice cream cone made her stop crying…at least temporarily. She is my child, after all.
For my dear brother-in-law, (Uncle) Dave…your ears were burning…Ken kept mentioning all the classic cars you’ve owned over the years…apparently, this was one (below)…but not the right color…forgive your sister-in-law’s lack of car knowledge. (To my sis-in-law, Angie, who will read this and show Dave…”hi girlie!”)
And then at (yikes) 9 o’clock it was definitely time to call it a night. And so we did. So now, it’s your turn, go and turn up some oldies but goodies and reminisce, even if you weren’t quite born yet.
